There are three deployment options available in VMware Cloud on AWS:
Single Host: This option is suitable for customers who want to quickly deploy VMware workloads to the cloud with minimal complexity. It provides a single host environment with vSphere, vSAN, and NSX capabilities.
Multi-Host: This option is suitable for customers who want to deploy multiple hosts in a cluster for increased availability and scalability. It provides a fully functional VMware SDDC environment with vSphere, vSAN, and NSX capabilities.
Hybrid Linked Mode: This option is suitable for customers who want to extend their on-premises VMware environment to the cloud. It allows customers to connect their on-premises vCenter Server instance to their VMware Cloud on AWS SDDC to manage both environments from a single pane of glass.
When choosing the right deployment option for your workload, consider factors such as workload size, performance requirements, availability, and cost. For example, if you have a small workload with low performance requirements, a Single Host deployment may be sufficient. If you have a large workload with high performance requirements, a Multi-Host deployment may be necessary. If you have an existing on-premises VMware environment, a Hybrid Linked Mode deployment may be the best option for extending your environment to the cloud.
